Kampung Muara Tuang undergoes active detection for Covid-19 cases

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Some 1,500 residents from 180 houses in Kampung Muara Tuang here have undergone Covid-19 screening through active case detection (ACD) on Monday (Feb 15).

Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), in a statement, said the screenings were conducted from house-to-house as well as at Kampung Muara Tuang Multipurpose Hall from 8.30am to 3pm.

The ACD operations was jointly organised by the Samarahan Division Health Office and Samarahan Divisional Disaster Management Committee (DDMC).

A total of 84 staff members assisted in the screening process, including officers from the Samarahan Division Resident’s Office, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela), Civil Defence Force (APM) and Samarahan Division Social Welfare Department.

The operations was carried out in view of the surge in cases of Covid-19 in the area.
