KUCHING: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) hopes that state lawmakers will assist people who apply for state or federal development funds.

SUPP PCB chief Wilfred Yap is calling on Kota Sentosa assemblyman Chong Chieng Jen to help improve and upgrade infrastructure within the Kota Sentosa constituency.

Yap said he was frequently asked to request the local council to repair damaged infrastructure such as drains and roads.

Recently, residents of Kampung Sungai Tapang complained about the poor conditions at a certain section of Lorong 5 frequently used by residents to send their children to St Alban’s Primary School and church that was prone to flash flood.

“The complaints were immediately communicated to Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), and the dilapidated section was filled with stones and resurfaced with bitumen.

“The residents have also voiced out the need to upgrade and improve the roads in their village.”

Yap, who is also Kota Sentosa SUPP chairman, highlighted it was a matter for MPP with regard to the need for more funding for the improvement and upgrading works requested by the villagers.
