KUCHING: Flood victims in various areas in Kapit will be assisted by the authorities, assures Federal Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi.
The Kapit MP also urged dwellers to remain safe and hoped that the floods would end soon.
“I sympathise with the plight of the affected families and victims. The relief mission has been mobilised,” he said in a Facebook post on Monday (Sept 14).

It was reported that the water level rose since Sunday afternoon (Sept 13) and was higher compared to the flooding a week ago on Sept 6, which only subsided two days later.
Nanta thanked Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit for his prompt action in channeling aid to those affected.
“I’m following the development on the floods closely and monitoring the situation.
“The authorities will ensure the safety of all affected residents.Let us all pray that this tragedy does not last long and recover as usual.”
