KAPIT: The frontliners in Kapit were given food packages as a token of appreciation from the state government.

“Without their dedication, hard work and selfless sacrifice, Sarawak will not reach the 80 percent vaccination rate by August this year,” said Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing.

He said this after giving the food packages to the frontliners along with Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) on Saturday (Aug 7).

He then shared about Florence Nightingale who came to prominence as a manager and trainer of nurses during the Crimean War to heal and comfort the victims of war.

“She was known as “The Lady With the Lamp” through her dedication and countless acts of mercy to heal hundreds of war victims during the Crimean War.

“In this case, to me, our frontliners is the Florence Nightingale of our battle against this Covid-19 pandemic,” he pointed out.
