SIBU: An active community server, Kapitan So Teck Kee, feels very much honoured to be conferred the state award of Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang (PBK) from the Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud during the investiture ceremony held at the Astana Negeri in Kuching on July 17.

The middle-aged businessman said he was thankful to the state government and all those concerned for entrusting him to be bestowed with the prestigious award.

The award, in recognition of his selfless community service and contributions which encompasses social affairs, charity and education, would motivate him to do even better in future, he said when met yesterday.

So with his state award.

“My greatest satisfaction in life is to be able to contribute towards the betterment of society and the nation as a whole,” he said.

He said he would continue to serve for the greater Sarawak which is the best example of a multi-racial society that is truly united in oneness and living harmoniously with one another.

So has served and rendered in numerous government services and organisations, such as the Sibu Rural District Council, Sibu Municipal Council, Sibu Mental Health Association and Sibu Lion Club.

He is currently serving as SJKC Kiang Hin management board chairman.
