KUCHING: A web design agency, Karuna (Sarawak) Enterprise, has won the Bronze award in the Medium Domestic Company category at this year’s Premier of Sarawak Industry Excellence Awards.
The prestigious awards ceremony took place at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) recently. Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg handed out the awards. Among the winners were 30 top companies from various categories.
These awards, launched in 2017, stand as Sarawak’s top corporate honours. Initially named the Chief Minister’s Industry Excellence Awards, they were created to spotlight entrepreneurs who show promise on a global scale.
Karuna’s co-founder and director, Wendy Ong, proudly accepted the honour on the agency’s behalf.
“The agency is deeply honoured to receive the prestigious award and is looking forward to enhancing other businesses’ digital presence,” Karuna said in a press release.
Categories at the awards event ranged from Large Domestic Company to Medium and Small Domestic Companies, with gold, silver, and bronze distinctions.
With this accolade, Karuna is even more motivated to refine its range of services. These include web design, digital marketing, mobile app creation, software development, system and IoT integration, enterprise solutions, and automation.
Karuna prides itself on catering to the distinct needs of its varied clientele with innovative solutions. Their collaborations include the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), which benefited from Karuna’s software enhancements. Additionally, both the Sarawak Tourism Board and the International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) improved their online footprints with Karuna’s digital marketing strategies.
Further showcasing its commitment to Sarawak’s growth, Karuna recently launched Property Axis. This is Sarawak’s first property portal, offering a streamlined platform for locals to explore real estate opportunities.
