KUALA LUMPUR: The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) has extended the closing date for the application of the 2020 Sports Concern Initiative (Inisiatif Prihatin Sukan 2020) aid scheme until Aug 15 in a bid to help the sports fraternity affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

KBS said in a statement that 248 applications had been received for the initiative, which was launched on June 17 and supposed to be closed tomorrow (July 17).

The initiative covers management assistance for national sports associations; assistance to carry out programmes and activities; and assistance for digitalisation, commercialisation as well as research and development (R&D) programmes.

The initiative, with an allocation of RM10 million, is a move by KBS to assist the sports fraternity in the country, especially national sports associations registered under the Office of the Commissioner of Sports (PJS). – Bernama
