JOHOR BAHRU: Kedah has emerged as champion in the 24th Pasir Gudang World Kite Festival 2019, which ended on Sunday.

The team’s representative Ahmad Kasim, 64, said it was the fourth victory since Kedah joined the festival in 2015.

“We won in 2015, 2016 and 2017, but lost to Kelantan, last year, before clinching this year’s victory,” he told Bernama when met at the closing ceremony of the festival at Bukit Layang-Layang here on Sunday night.

Kelantan was runner-up and Kuala Lumpur third in the competition.

Kite flyers from 45 countries including Colombia, Bulgaria, Hungary and Venezuela participated in the five-day event. –Bernama
