KUCHING: The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) machinery is called to continue their excellent service to serve the people despite their big wins in the last election.

In stating this, Petra Jaya Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said that having a big win means that the party is given a trust and mandate that needs to be carried out as best as they can.

He added that since Sarawak and GPS were given the Deputy Prime Minister portfolio, the expectations of the people in Sarawak for the party have skyrocketed.

“It will not be easy (in carrying out the responsibility), but with the support and help from everyone (in the machinery), InsyaAllah, we will be able to further raise the name of GPS.

“We will carry out the trust that was given to us and ensure that the Unity Government will be able to place Malaysia and be respected as the ‘Tiger of Malaysia’ as it once was,” he said.

He said this during the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Tupong machinery appreciation dinner at the Penview Convention Centre here last night (Jan 28).

Having said that, he reminded the machinery to not be complacent so that the people would know that the party that brought development and helped the people was the GPS itself.

“I hope that with the services that we have provided, GPS will continue to excel and be supported by the people.

“This effort will make us grow stronger so that we can better serve our people and our country,” he said.

The event was attended by Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki, Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, and Samariang assemblywoman Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, along with over 2,500 PBB’s machinery from the Petra Jaya parliament.
