KUCHING: The Metrocity Plogging Walk ‘You See Litter, You Pick It Up’ was recently held in conjunction with Kuching City Cleanliness Month.

Trienekens Sarawak said the event was jointly organised by the Commission of the City of Kuching North (DBKU), Chong Kia Hoi Realty Sdn Bhd, Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), Department of Environment (DOE), Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB), Kejiran Mesra DBKU (KJM), Cosmopoint College Kuching and business operators at Metrocity.

“Plogging is an activity combining jogging or walking while picking up litter. It is not only a great way to stay fit but also a way for us to keep our cities and natural spaces clean,” it said in a social media post yesterday.

Trienekens Sarawak said the programme was kicked off with an aerobic session and a short briefing on the plogging zones by DBKU personnel.

The official flag-off was done by DBKU director Mohamed Khaidir Abang who was accompanied by deputy director of Community and Services Department Rudzaimeir Malek.

“Lucky draws and a ‘most collected litter’ contest were also held – making it a fun and exciting day spent with the community,” it added.
