Keluarga Malaysia to steer nation’s recovery

KUCHING: The Keluarga Malaysia initiative will boost the efforts to restore the nation, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said with the programme having been launched here, the spirit of inclusiveness and resilience can be fostered among the masses.

“The Malaysian Family is the most reliable manifestation as a guide for us to restore the country. Let our family live in safety and prosperity,” he said.

He was launching the national-level Keluarga Malaysia programme at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on Saturday night (Oct 23).

Ismail Sabri said Sarawak has exemplified unity with diverse races and religious beliefs comprising the Ibans, Orang Ulus, Melanaus and Bidayuhs among others aside from Malays, Chinese and Indians.

“We stand together in the face of any challenge, celebrate differences, find common ground in strengthening national unity and integration with the spirit of the Malaysian Family.

“Three main thrusts are outlined under the crimson of the Malaysian Family, namely Inclusion, Togetherness and Gratitude.

“This thrust will uphold the values of the Malaysian Family based on the Supremacy of the Federal Constitution as enshrined in the Rukun Negara,” he said.

The premier said with the spirit of togetherness, the efforts to curb Covid-19 has borne fruit with the significant decline in daily Covid-19 cases.

“The National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (NCIP) has also reached over 94.4 percent of the adult population vaccinated.

“For adolescents, 46.3 percent of adolescents have received their vaccine dose. The booster dose administration phase has also begun in Sarawak.

“I am confident that Malaysia is on the right track in the transition to the endemic phase in the near future,” he said.
