BETONG: A total of 1,343 preschoolers under the Betong Community Development Department (Kemas) will begin their school sessions next week.

According to Betong Kemas officer Md Asdi Hamdi, Kemas will reopen its kindergartens (tabika) and nurseries (taska) throughout Betong in line with the reopening of schools nationwide, starting March 1.

“A total of 46 tabika and three taska with a total of 586 children as well as 79 tabika and three taska with 757 children will operate next week in Betong and Saratok districts respectively,” he said when asked on Kemas operations throughout Betong today.

Further elaborating, he added parents should not worry about sending their children to schools as they will strictly follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set.

Asdi also stated that cleaning and sanitisation operations have been carried out throughout its premises, thus portraying how Kemas places a great emphasis on health and security.

“In addition to providing physical distancing stickers in each class, all tabika and taska are also required to provide at least one temperature scanner to check the body temperature of its pupils before entering the classroom,” he said.

In the meantime, Asdi pointed out that he will constantly monitor the re-operation of tabika and taska to ensure that all operations run smoothly and are in compliance with the prescribed SOPs.
