KUCHING: The Kenyalang Bilingual Advanced Toastmasters Club is set to host a Demo Meeting on May 12 at My Homestay, Ellis Road.

The event will run from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

“This demo meeting is an excellent opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in bilingual communication and receive constructive feedback in both languages,” said event organiser Frankie Yang in a press release issued by the club today (May 4).

The club noted that the meeting aims to refine participants’ Mandarin and English public speaking abilities.

With a door fee of RM 10 for light refreshments, it said attendees can expect two prepared speeches by seasoned Toastmasters, each delivered in Mandarin and English, followed by evaluations providing feedback in both languages.

It added the event will also feature a Table Topics session, challenging participants to deliver spontaneous speeches in Mandarin and English.

“We believe that by providing a platform for bilingual communication and impromptu speaking, participants can sharpen their public speaking skills while embracing linguistic diversity,” said another organiser of the event, Wee Pei Chai.
