KUCHING: A ‘Kids for Animals’ programme aimed at educating the younger generation on animal welfare was held at Angel Kindergarten here yesterday.

It was organised by Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA). “We want the children to love animals especially if they do have pets at home,” said SSPCA chairman Rebecca D’ Cruz. “During this programme, we give them a general knowledge on what they can and cannot do when they bump into stray dogs or cats in the streets.

“We gave emphasis that they should not chase nor throw stones at these animals,” she added. The one-day programme saw various various pets been brought to the kindergarten such as dogs, cats, lizards, frogs, snakes and hamsters.
