King presents awards, medals to 243 recipients

PUTRAJAYA: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah yesterday presented the 2019 federal awards, honours and medals to 243 recipients at the investiture ceremony held at Istana Melawati here.

Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah was in attendance.

Five individuals received the Darjah Panglima Jasa Negara (PJN) which carries the title ‘Datuk’.

They are Universiti Teknologi MARA vice-chancellor Datuk Prof Emeritus Ir Dr Mohd Azraai Kassim, Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia vice chancellor Lt General Datuk Abdul Halim Jalal, Army Western Field Commander Lt General Datuk Azizan Md Delin, Lion Group strategic director Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy and Kumpulan Kop Mantap Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Iskandar Abdul Malik.

Three individuals received the Darjah Panglima Setia DiRaja (PSD), which also carries the title ‘Datuk’, namely former deputy secretary-general (Cabinet) of the Cabinet, Constitution and Inter-Government Relation Division, Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Ahmad Osman; Army Eastern Field Commander Lt General Datuk Zamrose Mohd Zain and National Security Council director-general Datuk Engku Hamzah Tuan Mat, who died on Sept 29.

Receiving the PSD award on behalf of Engku Hamzah was his wife Datin Rohana Che Hassan.

There were five recipients of the Johan Mangku Negara (JMN) award, including Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia vice chancellor Prof Ir Dr Mohd Hamdi Abd Shukor, eight recipients of Johan Setia Mahkota (JSM) award, and one recipient of Johan Setia DiRaja (JSD) award.

Forty individuals received the Bintang Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN) medal, including Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Finance and Accounts Department senior manager cum acting Head of Human Capital Sharifah Zaini Syed Zain.

Other awards and medals presented yesterday were Darjah Kesatria Setia DiRaja (five recipients), Darjah Ahli Mangku Negara (52), Pingat Pangkuan Negara (77) and Pingat Bentara Setia DiRaja (47). – Bernama
