Their majesties bid Kuching farewell.

KUCHING: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah today ended their one-day official visit to Kuching.

Their majesties departed Kuching for Melaka.

According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), their majesties’ arrival at the airport on Thursday was received by Head of State Pehin Sri Tun Taib Mahmud and wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib.

Also present were Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, State Legislative Assembly speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar and wife Datuk Fatimah Mohd Iskandar, Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom and wife Datin Seri Loreta Rundi, State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion, Federal Secretary Datuk Amir Omar and other guests of honour.

Their majesties visited Bazar Ramadan Satok in the afternoon where they bought local delicacies.

Later in the evening, their majesties attended the ‘Majlis Berbuka Puasa dan Solat Maghrib Berjemaah’ at Masjid Jamek Negeri Sarawak.

During the ceremony, their majesties also presented contributions to 30 recipients from the ‘asnaf’ (needy) group.
