KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah will make a state visit to Brunei Darussalam starting today until Aug 20.

This will be His Majesty’s first state visit after being installed as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on July 30, 2019. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement yesterday said His Majesty would be accompanied by the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

 Their Majesties’ delegation would include Minister of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, as well as senior officials from the ministry, Istana Negara and the Prime Minister’s Department, it said.

“The programmes arranged for the state visit will include a state welcoming ceremony, an audience and a royal banquet hosted by Sultan and the Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, at Istana Nurul Iman, Bandar Seri Begawan.

“During the audience, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah has consented to confer the Royal Family Order of the Crown of Brunei or Darjah Kerabat Mahkota Brunei (DKMB) Brunei Darussalam’s highest honour to His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Most Esteemed Family Order of Brunei or Darjah Kerabat Laila Utama Yang Amat Dihormati (DK) to Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong. – Bernama

“Meanwhile, His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong has also consented to confer the Most Exalted Order of the Crown of the Realm or Darjah Utama Seri Mahkota Negara (DMN) to Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha,” said the statement.

It said, Their Majesties have also consented to attend a dinner with Malaysian diaspora in Brunei Darussalam and are scheduled to visit historical sites and government departments in Bandar Seri Begawan.

“The state visit is a special visit that will further strengthen the existing close relationship between the two countries, which share common deep-rooted Islamic values and Malay cultures. – Bernama
