KMKM 2022 convoy reaches Miri

MIRI: The 2022 Malaysian Family Independence Day (KMKM) convoy arrived here yesterday – its 30th pit stop – and was welcomed by 300 secondary students of Kolej Tuanku Haji Bujang.

Miri Division Resident Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusuf received the convoy at the school.

Aziz said the programme (KMKM 2022) helps to promote and inculcate the Merdeka spirit and unity among the various communities, especially youths.

The convoy was led by the Malaysian Information Department (Japen) Sarawak director Jaafar Jantan, who said the programme is aimed at igniting patriotism as the nation celebrates its 65th National Day on Aug 31.

They are expected to travel to Long Lama today (Aug 25) before proceeded to Marudi the next day (Aug 26).

On Aug 27 the convoy will be in Limbang and Lawas before returning to Niah on Aug 28. The members will be in Tatau on Aug 29 before moving to Betong on Aug 31 for the state-level National Merdeka Month celebration.

The convoy, covering a total of 33 districts and making 37 pit stops, started in Telok Melano on Aug 10.
