MIRI: The ‘Konsert Rakyat’ wrapped up in a spectacular 15-minute fireworks show here on Saturday night.
Nearly 2,000 crowds gathered at Coco Cabana to witness the event which started off around 8.30pm.
The concert, organised by the state government, was one of the events held in conjunction with Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Seri Abdul Taib Mahmud’s 83rd official birthday celebration in Miri.
The concert came to a close as the skies were filled with strobing fireworks.
During the event, crowds were entertained by local singers such as Ricky Andrewson, Melissa Francis, Firdaus Materang, Bibiyanti, Dreamage, D’ Voice, Norafizah Busman, Raquel Then, Siti Hajar, Tuku Kamek and Faizal Tahir.
Also present was Tourism, Arts and Culture Assistant Minister Datuk Sebastian Ting.
