KUCHING: Sarawak’s fourth import star, Kim Chi-gon, 34, passed a medical test conducted on him on Tuesday.

This means that the defender will be available to strengthen Sarawak’s defence in the opening action against Kuantan FA at the State Stadium, Petra Jaya Kuching this Friday at 4.15pm. Sarawak coach Ian Andrew Gillan said it was happy news.

“Kim will be with us this Friday, he’s an extra tonic in defence,” Andrew said. However, according to Andrew Gillan Kim’s ability will be monitored in the near future before deciding whether the player will be in the starting line-up.

“He just had few days of training with us, I’ll look into his ability,” Andrew said. “He looks so enthusiastic at training sessions and has made adjustments with other colleagues,” he said. Meanwhile, Sarawak players are ready for the new season this Friday.

“We are already in the final preparation stage and the players are eager to start this Friday,” Andrew said. Sarawak were relegated to the Premier League after being ranked second last in the Super League 2017. — By Faizal Bujang
