KUCHING: A Covid-19 hotspot or not, Kota Samarahan needs to carry on playing its part in complying with the movement control order (MCO), said Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) chairman Datuk Peter Minos.

He said that MPKS would continue to disinfect public places as well as advise and guide provision suppliers and customers.

“We are still doing our best and also hoping for the best,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He said that while it might be tough for many to stay at home for an extended period of time, it was a sacrifice which had to be made for the safety of the public, state and nation.

“Our hearts and gratitude go to the frontliners, especially doctors, nurses, policemen and soldiers. We salute you all,” he said.

Minos assured that the leaders and nation would continue to endure together to overcome Covid-19.

“Together we will prevail and survive,” he said.

Kota Samarahan was declared a Covid-19 red zone on Wednesday.
