BINTULU: Unifi service is now available in Kampung Jepak.

The launching ceremony was held yesterday morning and was described as a commitment by Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) to bring Unifi’s unlimited IT experiences, unmatched choices and unbeatable value to urban, sub-urban and underserved areas in Sarawak.

Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Integrity and Ombudsman), Datuk Talib Zulpilip, officiated at the ceremony, and also present were general manager of TM Sarawak Jafer Sadig Abdul Lathiff, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission’s regional chief Adiman Ajem.

Talib said they welcomed Unifi to Kampung Jepak, the first rural area in Bintulu to enjoy the high-speed broadband service.

He hoped the tremendous benefits that it brings would boost the growth of local industries and ultimately the standard of living of local communities.

Jafer Sadig, who also spoke, said Unifi at Kampung Jepak is a significant milestone in TM Sarawak’s journey in deploying high-speed broadband Internet service in Sarawak.

Two previous phases of the deployment focussed on major towns and suburban areas that have big populations.

“This is part of our role in nation building to ensure that Sarawak is well-connected. Through the deployment of the National Fiberisation and Connectivity Plan (NFCP), more rural communities similar to Kpg Jepak will benefit,” he said.

“I’m also excited to share that our new Unifi package, Unifi Basic 30Mbps is now available for everyone at an affordable price of RM89 per month. The plan comes with speed of 30Mbps, perfect for non-stop entertainment and surfing for everyone at home,” he said.

Customers who subscribe to the plan via the portal unifi.com.my before Sept 30 can enjoy a one-month waiver on the monthly fee. They also get Unifi installed and ready for use within 24 hours.
