KUCHING: KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital is one of the private hospitals in the city assigned as vaccination centres.

The hospital said that it was among 20 KPJ Hospitals that had signed up with ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn Bhd (ProtectHealth) to participate as VCs for phase two and phase three of the Covid-19 National Immunisation Plan (NIP).

“The selection of recipients and their respective vaccination dates are coordinated and determined by the Ministry of Health (MOH) through registration via MySejahtera mobile application and vaksincovid.gov.my,” it said in the statement.

However, the hospital said it would not accept walk-ins and would only vaccinate recipients according to the list provided by the MOH.

“The public is advised not to visit the vaccination centre without prior appointment for this purpose,” it said.

The hospital also fully encouraged all Malaysians to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) advisor Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian on May 23 said that private hospitals in the state would start administering the Covid-19 vaccines starting on Tuesday (May 25).

He said a meeting was held by the State Health Department and private hospitals in Sarawak last Saturday (May 22) to coordinate the vaccination drive.
