KUCHING: Krian assemblyman Friday Belik and Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) have plans to build a new pipe that would connect the Lubok Renit area from the Sg Antu/Temudok junction stretching 2.3km as an absolute solution for water supply issues there.

In a post on the assemblyman’s official Facebook page on Thursday (Jan 27), it was shared that he had had a meeting and briefing with officers from JBALB Betong at the Krian Constituency Service centre.

“Among the agendas raised were to find a solution for the water issue occurring in the Lubok Renit area, which was viralled on Facebook recently.

“It was discovered that the problem of lack of water at certain times was caused by a leak in the pipe connecting Saratok town and the Lubok Renit area, causing the water pressure to be low.”

He said to date, JBALB was trying to find the source of the leak as it involved a pipeline at the river bed and forest area.

“As a preliminary effort, JBALB will send water tanks for the use of the longhouse residents affected.”

Apart from this, Friday with the help of JBALB would try to resolve water issues for other areas which still do not have treated water supply yet.
