KUCHING: KSK Land, one of Malaysia’s leading lifestyle property developers, has launched its ‘Platter Accelerator’ programme to promote and sustain the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) within the food and beverage (F&B) sector.

“This unique programme is aimed at providing a spring boost to carefully selected restaurateurs to create a diverse and unified culinary ecosystem that would also set the stage for aspiring food artists,” said KSK Land managing director and KSK Group chief executive officer Joanne Kua.

“We are seeking to nurture shared experiences and exemplify cross-industry collaborations between young business owners in the field of F&B. This accelerator programme is also the first-of-its kind in Malaysia.”

She said, open to all F&B SMEs in Malaysia and around the world, Platter Accelerator featured a host of benefits, including financial support of up to RM100,000, technical support and a space in Platter (within the retail lifestyle quarters of 8 Conlay).

It also offered priceless mentoring from top industry experts, in order to elevate and expand participating SMEs vision for the future, she added.

“At its core, Platter seeks to share a sense of togetherness,” said Kua, adding; “This will be a space where creators from around the world can come together to create an experience that communicates the meaning and passion.”

Just like what 8 Conlay had always set out to be, she said Platter would set the stage for tomorrow’s trailblazers in culinary art and experience.

In addition to a tenancy agreement, the recipients of the programme would benefit from industry mentoring, where KSK Land would provide a host of the industry’s most seasoned mentors to guide the emerging business owners in marketing and branding, as well as identifying pain points in growing a business, franchising models and developing credible financial plans.

Applicants must have a minimum of two years in operation and should be able to demonstrate a financial break-even from their profit and loss statements, as well as businesses growth potential. And more importantly, display culinary concepts that are different, embody the Platter story and challenge the status quo through creativity and grit.

Located inside the retail space of 8 Conlay, a landmark on the rise in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Platter will be the first experience-driven dining hall in Malaysia upon its completion in 2021.
