KUCHING: The 23rd Asian Television Awards (ATA), which will be held here on Jan 12, is the first of many colourful activities for the state this year.

ATA advisor Koh Jik Seng and ATA managing director Pung Siok Eng has invited Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk James Chan to the awards ceremony.

On that day, Kuching, like Cannes in France, will experience the most prestigious and glamorous awards in the heart of Sarawak. There will be a gala dinner, live show awards, red carpet arrivals, power-packed stage performances and a concert featuring several international groups.

The Asian Television Awards in Sarawak will be broadcast live to 22 countries with over 500,000,000 homes across Asia Pacific.

The event will be attended by invited guests from the crème de la crème of the television industry and over 300 international delegates comprising award-winning film producers, directors, performers, host talents, judges, key sponsors, nominees and celebrities from the participating countries all over Asia.
