KUCHING: The Kuching city is ready to host an international gathering of 5,000 people.

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng disclosed this during the Junior Chamber International (JCI) new members’ Induction ceremony at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on Friday.

“We have the facilities, the experience and enthusiasm and with the collaboration of JCI, in the past and even more so in the future, we are fully equipped to engage.

“Thus, we assuredly welcome more international activities to come to Kuching,” he said.

With numerous awards being won by Kuching over the last few years that touch on all aspects of community, such as ASEAN Clean Tourist City in 2022, World Crafts City in 2018, among others, reflected the commitment in producing a sustainable community and to support all citizens with equal opportunities and healthy environmental growth.

“This means redesigning our bus stops through a public competition with young designers and architecture graduates so that everyone can have a role in the beautification of the city we all share,” he added.
