KUCHING: Sarawak is now a green zone after no new positive locally-transmitted Covid-19 cases were reported in all districts for the past 14 days.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement on Saturday said that the total number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remains at 700.

The committee said one Covid-19 cluster, that is the Alam Cluster in Bintulu, is still active with eight cases.

Seven cases from the Alam Cluster have recovered and discharged from the hospital, while one case is still receiving treatment at Bintulu Hospital.

One case has recovered and discharged from Bintulu Hospital, bringing the total number of recoveries and discharged cases to 678 or 96.86 percent.

They said that three cases are still receiving treatment at the hospital isolation wards with one case each at Bintulu Hospital, Sibu Hospital and Miri Hospital.

Meanwhile, there were 28 new person-under-investigation (PUI) cases reported and five are still awaiting laboratory test results.

On the number of persons-under surveillance (PUS), 57 have been checked into designated hotels to undergo quarantine, bringing the total number of PUS at 11 hotels to 695.

To date, 23,785 PUS have completed their quarantine period.

With no deaths reported, the death toll in the state remains at 19 or 2.72 percent of the total cases.
