KUCHING: Zone 1 Kuching was crowned overall champion in the Hari Potensi Kemas Peringkat Negeri Sarawak Tahun 2023.

The team brought home the Sarawak Kemas Director’s Cup 2023 for their win.

The team managed to win nine out of the 10 talent competition categories throughout the tournament.

It started with Affan Aqimi Mohd Ali winning the boy’s storytelling category, followed by Aylan Will Balla Albert Rino representing Zone 2 in second place and Tristan Reese Kayax Boniface from Zone 4 in third place.

The storytelling competition in the girls category was also topped by Zone 1 represented by Gwen Rosanne Birdy, followed by Carla Giselle Dawson from Zone 2 in second place and Nur Shakireen Afeeya Salim from Zone 3 in third place.

Kuching Zone also claimed the top spot for the public speaking competition in both categories (boys and girls), won by Muhammad Raqib Rambli and Al Ramadhani Ismadi.

The winning streak by Zone 1 continued with Mohammad Shaffiq Mohd Ariffin who won the Bilal Cilik competition.

The Gemilang Kids Award was won by Danial Izz Fathi Madzli from Zone 1 Kuching while the junior ustazah category was won by Nur Nia Ramadhani Mohd Syah Nizam also from Zone 1 Kuching.

Meanwhile, two other categories won by the Kuching Zone were Hufaz Cilik and Si Cilik Pintar.

However, Kuching’s effort to achieve a clean sweep was denied when the dance category was won by Zone 4.

Hari Potensi Kemas Peringkat Negeri Sarawak Tahun 2023 was attended by teams from five zones from Kuching to Sarikei.

The prize-giving ceremony was officiated by Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang here today.
