LABUAN: The Labuan International Sea Challenge 2019 (LISC) from April 23 to 28 is expected to draw at least 30,000 people to the duty-free island, according to the main organiser, Labuan Corporation.

It said in a statement to Bernama that the competition features at least 20 events, several of them new.

The annual event, which started in 1997, has given Labuan a positive image internationally due to the international participation, especially in the deep-sea fishing competition formerly known as the Rolex IGFA Labuan International Fishing Tournament.

Six main events, including the LISC Daiwa Fishing Tournament, Labuan Cross-Channel Swimming Challenge, Island-to-Island Fishing Tournament, Labuan Round-Island Kayak Challenge, and 14 supporting competitions will be organised by various agencies, clubs and associations. – Bernama
