lakmns’ ramadan donations benefit 2,146 students

KUCHING: A total of 2,146 students from 12 schools around Kuching area received Ramadan donations from Sarawak State Mosques Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS) between 12nd June and yesterday.

These students comprised the orphans and those from poor families who received RM100 (for the orphans) and RM50 for the poor group.

The welfare activity yesterday held at SK Tabuan here was graced by LAKMNS Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Bujang Mohd Nor who was also joined by Exco-member LAKMNS, Drahman Jaladin, and General Manager LAKMNS Haji Mohamad Sabry Haji Othman.

Such programme held during Ramadan month is aimed as a Jariah (welfare) practice. Donations given is hoped to assist the unfortunate Muslim children to buy some Raya items as well as strengthen the relations among the schools involved.

The 12 schools involved were Kolej Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Abdillah, Matang Vocational College, SK Tabuan, SK Tabuan Hilir, SM Sains Kuching, SMK Sains Kuching Utara, SMT Sejingkat, SMK (A) Matang 2, SMK (A) Sheikh Haji Othman Abdul Wahab (SHOAW), SMK (A) Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce, SMK Bako and SMK Datuk Patinggi Hj Abdul Gapor.
