KOTA SAMARAHAN: Sarawak has developed an excellent land management system under the Natural Resources and Urban Development Ministry, says Datuk Rubiah Wang.

Emphasising the importance of land title issuance, the Kota Samarahan MP said the system involves various steps to ensure an equal and fair land surveying process.

“We have a very good plan for land management throughout the state of Sarawak, including our area (of Kota Samarahan).

“Our lands are surveyed, processed, and land titles are issued based on established procedures. And God willing, if this process has been completed, all of us will receive our respective land titles,” she said.

Rubiah said this at the handing over of the Bumiputera Communal Reserve Gazette at Kota Samarahan Civic Centre, here on Monday (Jun 20).

She assured that the state government is responding to the concerns of the people on the importance of having land titles.

“We know its importance to the people. That is why we are doing our best to ensure that these land titles are issued to the correct landowners.

“And I hope those who received their land titles today are also satisfied (with our efforts),” she added.

Rubiah also hoped to see the peoples’ land being put to good use.

“We hope to see all of you build your houses on your respective land as these land title issuance will also be able to mitigate the issue of having limited land to build houses in Kampung Muara Tuang and Kampung Tanjung Bundong here.

“I also personally hope that the people will refrain from exchanging or giving away their land titles. Let those lands become your home,” she asserted.

Having emphasised land survey works and land title issuance since 2018, Rubiah said the Gabungan Parti Sarawak has once again proven itself through the handing over of the Bumiputera Communal Reserve Gazette under Section 6 of the State Land Code (SLC) for Kampung Bangka Semong and land titles issued under Section 18 of the SLC (Agriculture/Residential) for Kampung Tanjung Bundong/Muara Tuang and Kampung Tradisi Kampung Melayu as well as Temporary Occupation Licence (TOL) Residential for SPK Tanjung Bundong Phase 4 and 5.
