BETONG: The road to Rumah Aji near Ulu Layar was buried by a landslide around 10am on Sunday morning, making it impassable by vehicles.
Betong Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) after monitoring the situation found that the landslide had occurred on a slope above the road.
It is understood that the incident had affected the 11-door longhouse and some 90 inhabitants.
The residents acted immediately, working together to clear the road for motorcycles to pass through.
The landslide was confirmed by a Betong fire officer Henry Jugah when contacted by Sarawak Voice on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Betong Public Works Department (JKR) engineer Chiresly Francis Kureng said that contractors had been contacted to clear the earth blocking the road.
He said JKR would monitor the status of the landslide in case it happened again.
