SARIKEI: A landslide has occurred behind a four-door longhouse at Sungai Ribong, Jalan Kim San today morning (Feb 2).
However, no injuries or casualties were reported among the 30 residents of Rh Chuat Ubit.
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Sarikei station were despatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call at around 8.30 am.
On arrival, the team confirmed that the incident only happened at the back area of the longhouse and did not cause any structural damage.
No evacuation operation was carried out as they only monitored the situation.
The firemen also covered the affected areas with canvas to prevent residents from going near the scene.
The longhouse folks are advised to be careful and alert the authorities if it happens again.
After gathering information and advising the residents, the team departed back to their station at 9.20 am.
