KAPIT: Residents of Rumah Melintang Sungai Kapit Ulu, Batang Rajang here are living in fear of more landslides after part of their longhouse was affected by part of a hill slope which gave way on Tuesday.
According to State Fire Rescue Department (Bomba), the department received a call on the incident at 1.29pm.
Bomba and Civil Defence Department officers and the police rushed to the scene to assist the villagers and investigate the extent of damages occurred.
Upon arrival, the team found that the landslip had hit the kitchen area of the longhouse which was under construction.
However, only two units of the longhouse were affected and no serious damages were reported.
Bomba officers urged the residents to be more vigilant and to contact the fire department immediately if there is any landslide occurrence.
