BETONG: With just another two more days left, the tail end of the campaign period will be used wisely to reach out to voters in Betong and convince them to send the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate to Parliament, said Saribas assemblyman Mohamad Razi Sitam.

“We will ensure that the community, especially the voters here in Betong, will not be taken in by the opposition.

“Right now, we are entering the final stages of campaigning to help our GPS candidate Dr Richard Rapu to win Betong in this 15th general election,” said he told New Sarawak Tribune in Debak last night (Nov 15).

“However, we do not want to be complacent even for a second because the opposition is always looking for an opportunity to attack at the last minute.”

Razi said the GPS election machinery in Saribas is always prepared (to counter the opposition) so that no problems arise that could have a negative impact on the multiracial community.

“The time that we have now is very valuable and we cannot be complacent because the opposition will also be looking for issues,” he said.

He said that the campaign machinery led by him had visited most villages in Betong according to the schedule that had been planned.

At the same time, Razi also reminded the voters to come out and fulfil their basic responsibilities on Nov 19.

“Go out and vote this Saturday. I believe you are all mature voters and will make the right choice on who you want to elect as the people’s representative for Betong,” he said.

It’s a three-cornered fight in Betong between Dr Richard and Patrick Khamis of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Independent Hasbie Satar.
