KUCHING: The Bidayuh will not forget about the contributions of the late Datuk Seri James Dawos Mamit.
Kota Samarahan Municipal Council chairman Datuk Peter Minos said when Dawos became Mambong MP (now Puncak Borneo), he brought many changes to the area.
He said today, many homes had water, electricity and access roads during Dawos’ four terms as MP.
Minos said Dawos worked hard to get to the top, becoming head of the Natural Resources and Environment Board and deputy minister of Water, Land and Natural Resources Malaysia.
“He is an example of a village boy who can succeed with sincere hard work,” he said.
