
SELANGAU: A late night fire has burned two teachers’ quarters at SK Nanga Tajam to the ground on yesterday (Nov 16).
During the 11.50pm incident, one of the teachers managed to get out to safety while, the other was not at home.
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Selangau station were despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call.
Upon arriving, they found that the block of quarters was beyond saving and the extinguishing deed was carried out.
After ensuring that the situation is safe, the team wrapped up the operation and departed back to their station.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred is still under investigation.
