SIBU: Police have identified an oil palm plantation road in Pasai Siong as the new location of roadblock in Sibu district.
Sibu District Police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the General Operations Force (GOF) and the army would assist the police in the roadblock.
“This oil palm plantation will be the seventh location of roadblocks in this district,” he told reporters here yesterday.
He advised the public to continue complying with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout the movement control order (MCO) period.
“All parties, including the public, must play their respective roles to break the chain of this deadly virus,” he pointed out.
Last Monday, Stanley revealed that several longhouse residents had escaped from the movement restrictions by traversing the oil palm plantation area for three hours before reaching the main road.
