LAWAS: The residents of Kampung Batu Dua here will benefit from the various developments that will be implemented here.
Lawas MP Datuk Henry Sum Agong said that the residents of Kampung Batu Dua need to be prepared for active development activities since the village is closer to Lawas town.
“We have to prepare for the various developments that will be implemented here especially the construction of the Lawas airport and port later,” he said during the Kampung Batu Dua Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri celebration, recently.
In the meantime, he also requested the local residents to cultivate their respective lands and intensify fishing activities to ensure sufficient food supply to meet the needs of the town of Lawas which is expected to become a dense settlement in the future.
At the ceremony, there was also the presentation of a cheque for a grant worth RM5,000 to the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Batu Dua and RM20,000 to the Sarawak Federation of Women’s Institute (PPWS) Lawas.
