Layang Layang Aerospace Sdn Bhd has been shortlisted for Corporate Excellence in the Aerospace Sector for Chartered Air Services.

KUCHING: Layang Layang Aerospace Sdn Bhd has been shortlisted to receive the prestigious IBR Global Maritime and Aerospace Awards 2023 for Corporate Excellence in the Aerospace Sector for Chartered Air Services.

Founded in Miri back in 1994, the now Kota Kinabalu based company has a stellar reputation as a key solutions provider of aircraft, maintenance, and engineering support services to the aviation industry of Malaysia.

Layang Layang has displayed competence and excellence in providing quality chartered air services, the company said in a press release yesterday.

In doing so, it has garnered the trust of clientele from both the government and private sectors such as the Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM), the Ministry of Health (MOH), PETRONAS Gas Berhad, and the Malaysian Elections Commission.

For instance, MOH has demonstrated its full confidence in Layang Layang by contracting the company for both the Medical Emergency Evacuation Services (MEDEVAC) and Flying Doctor Services (FDS).

Layang Layang’s stellar performance with these tasks has allowed MOH to reach underserved people in remote areas of Malaysia.

JUPEM is another such player that charted Layang Layang for its quality air services for its survey and mapping of Sabah.

Moreover, Layang Layang has also provided its services to PETRONAS Gas Berhad for the Sabah-Sarawak Integrated Oil and Gas project as well as patrolling its Gas Transportation and Regasification (GTR) Division.

The company’s excellent track record can be attributed to its team of highly experienced personnel with its fleet of 21 fixed-wing and 15 rotary-wing aircrafts which is the largest fleet in East Malaysia.

For the record, the Awards will take place on May 26 at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC), Langkawi in conjunction with the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2023.
