KUCHING: Lebuhraya Borneo Utara (LBU) has donated RM1mil to the Sarawak Disaster Relief Fund.

“So many people are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. As part of our corporate responsibility, LBU is contributing RM1mil to the fund to channel assistance to help the community cope with the current challenging situation,” said managing director Mohamad Zaidee Abang Hipni.

Mohamad Zaidee expressed his hope that more corporate entities would come forward to lend a helping hand.

LBU is one of the first corporate entities in the state to contribute to the relief fund.

LBU’s contribution was received by State Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas yesterday, presented by Mohamad Zaidee and corporate communications head Nor Zalida Ahmad.

LBU, a local construction entity, was the former project delivery partner to the government for the development of the Pan Borneo Highway Sarawak.

LBU had in 2017 built a new SK Kampung Buda, Spaoh, Betong at a cost of RM2.8mil.
