MIRI: Educational institutions need to change their learning approach to encourage students to think more creatively and innovatively.

Pujut assemblyman Adam Yii Siew Sang said that education needs to move from rote learning.

“We need to move on and go for a teaching and learning creation model that stimulates the mind, tests creativity and innovation which is able to unearth the students’ ability to solve problems,” he said.

He said this when officiating at the 2023 Quality Award Ceremony organised by Miri Vocational College (KV) at Dewan Permata KV Miri here today.

As such, he called for educational institutions such as Miri KV to continuously drive the production of creativity and innovation in the teaching and learning process.

Meanwhile, touching on the ceremony here, he commended the holding of such an event.

He stated that such a ceremony encouraged and motivated the students to continue to strive to achieve excellence in all fields and expressed his hopes that it would be done continuously in the future.
