Lee gets briefing on navigational aid

BINTULU: State Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin got to hear in detail about the navigational aid (ATON) to be used at the three-kilometre jetty of the methanol plant owned by Sarawak Petchem in Tanjung Kidurong here recently.

“The safety facilities that will be installed and used around the jetty are the latest technology and have met the standards set by the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA),” he said in a statement.

During the work visit, Lee’s delegation was briefed by Sarawak Petchem deputy project manager, Safian Shafiee.

Among those present were Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming and Permanent Secretary Datuk Alice Jawan Empaling.

Lee and his entourage also visited Bintulu Port with the aim of obtaining information and conducting a direct survey on the navigational aid used at the port.

The delegation was briefed by BPA assistant general manager (operations) Zakhir Khan Yusop.
