Lee presents aid cheques to two schools

MIRI: State Minister of Transport Datuk Lee Kim Shin on Wednesday presented a cheque worth of RM5,000 each to two primary schools’ Parent Teacher Association (PTA) in Kuala Baram.

The aid for SK Kuala Baram 1 and 2 was to help assist the schools in acquiring personal protective equipment (PPE) to curb the spread of Covid-19.

“This is an assistance fund for them to comply with Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs). These include sanitising the building or area and to buy hand sanitiser, thermometer and to acquire face masks (in cases of people without face mask,” he pointed out.

He disclosed this when speaking to reporters on Wednesday (Aug 5) after presenting the cheque to the schools’ respective PTA.

Lee also reminded parents and students to be cooperative and comply with SOPs when they are in the school. 

“Practise social distancing and hand hygiene,” he advised.

Accompanying Lee during his brief visit were Pemanca Abang Mohamad, Kapitan Ngieng Hock Diing and Ketua Kaum (KK) from the respective villages.
