KUALA LUMPUR: Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has announced the Hajj payment rates for prospective Hajj Muassasah from the B40 and M40 groups, with the first-time B40 pilgrims paying RM12,356 and M40 pilgrims paying RM19,152.

The overall Hajj cost has seen an 8 per cent increase this year, reaching RM33,300 compared to RM30,850 in the previous year.

Despite the rise in costs, TH remains committed to providing financial support for B40 and M40 groups, maintaining financial sustainability while delivering excellent services for the nation’s pilgrims.

TH chief executive officer Syed Hamadah Syed Othman explained that the Malaysian government’s concern for the B40 group is reflected in the government covering RM1,000 per person, amounting to financial aid totalling RM20,944 per person or 63 per cent of the Hajj cost for B40 group pilgrims.
TH has allocated Hajj financial assistance (HAFIS) up to 63 per cent of the Hajj cost for the B40 group and 42 per cent for the M40 group.

“First-time Muassasah prospective pilgrims in the M40 group will pay RM19,152 per person, with HAFIS covering RM14,148 per person or 42 per cent of the total Hajj cost.

“The T20 group will bear the full cost of Hajj at RM33,300 per person, covering various services such as accommodation, flights, meals, visas, and operational costs.”

Meanwhile, Syed Hamadah said TH has commenced the issuance of Hajj Offer Letters for the year 1445H/2024M to 31,600 prospective pilgrims, who are required to fulfil the Hajj payment and undergo a health examination before responding to the offer letter within 11 working days through the THiJARI app or in specific cases, by visiting any TH branch.

Prospective pilgrims applying out of turn to perform Muassasah Hajj are required to pay the full Hajj cost unless they are appealing as a mahram to pilgrims, an assistant to an elderly pilgrim, or an assistant to a disabled pilgrim selected to perform the Hajj.
