‘Let’s Go Healthy’ programme debuts

KUCHING: The Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) library organised a ‘Let’s Go Healthy’ programme together with Kuching Division Public Health Office at its premises here yesterday.

Kicking off the programme at 9am was a talk on Covid-19 and Influenza A given by Dr Zaitul Akmal Abdullah Zawawi, a family medicine specialist, from Jalan Masjid Health Clinic.

The programme was held to emphasise the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle as well as to create awareness on Covid-19 and other diseases.

Several counters and exhibitions from various organisations were also set up.

National Cancer Society Malaysia, Healthcare Protection Scheme for B40 Group (Peka B40), Pink Ribbon Support Group Sarawak, MySalam and Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) were among the organisations.

Health screenings were also available for visitors throughout the programme. These included basic and HIV screening, dental screening, and mental health screening.

The programme ended at 4pm and was attended by over 100 people, including DBKU library staff as well as other employees at Majma Mall.

The ‘Let’s Go Healthy’ programme is the first of four to be held by DBKU library this year.
