BINTULU: It is hoped that the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob could carry out his duties smoothly without the too much interference for the sake of the country’s stability.

Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip said nobody should question Ismail’s appointment because he had been chosen by the majority of members of Parliament and then appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Al-Abdullah.

Talib thinks that Ismail as a man of integrity with a simple life and a success story.

“Ismail has held various portfolios in different cabinets, including as youth and sports minister, domestic trade and consumer affairs minister, and defence minister cum senior minister. There is no controversy in his ministry,” he said.

Still, he said, some parties might still want to distort facts and claimed he had committed many mistakes in the past.

“That is incorrect,” he said.

Talib is confident that Ismail will be able to solve the Covid-19 pandemic and address the country’s economic problems.
