KUCHING: Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing has reminded his elected representatives to carry out their duties sincerely and with dedication as the people have put their faith in and elected Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) as their government.

“I also advise everyone, and that includes myself, to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to look after the welfare of the people of Sarawak.

“I hope that all of us can move as one team, and do the best for the people,” said the Dudong assemblyman in a Facebook post on Tuesday (Feb 15).

He said following the swearing-in of the elected representatives on Monday (Feb 14), they officially held office as members of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) and must shoulder important responsibilities and the trust to serve the community.

Tiong expressed his appreciation to the voters for giving their trust and support to PDP.

“We will continue to be committed towards defending their rights and improving their living standards.

“We are also open to receiving criticisms and suggestions from the people for the purpose of improving our services because we believe that a good government is one that is close to the people and always listens to their problems,” he said.
