Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Miri as Pustaka Negeri Sarawak`s northern branch, it first opened its door to the public on 19 October 2002 and officially opened on 10 December 2002. Its functions are also in line with the Sarawak State Library Ordinance 1999.

MIRI: The Miri Public Library at Dewan Suarah, Jalan Kipas and other libraries will continue to be closed to the public from Jan 31 to Feb 14.

The Miri City Council (MCC) said the other libraries included the ones in Piasau, Lutong, Taman Tunku and Bario.

The council said this was in line with the decision from the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) on the extension of the conditional movement control order (CMCO) period.

Miri is among the districts under the CMCO extension from Jan 31 to Feb 14, and is also one of the places declared as a Covid-19 red zone.
